This workshop helps attendees understand why innovation is necessary and how to decide what innovation is already working well and where innovation is not happening. It describes a model for innovation which they will be able to use to start innovation happening within the organisation and explores scanning techniques for capturing and developing innovative ideas and best practice.

  • The pressures for and the benefits of innovation.
  • The dimensions of innovation - a model.
  • Scanning for innovations.
  • Developing innovation.

At the end of this workshop attendees will:

  • understand why they need to innovate
  • know the activities in which innovation might help
  • understand the potential benefits of innovating
  • understand and be able to use a simple but highly effective model for creating an innovative organisation
  • be able to use some scanning techniques to map innovation within their organisation and to capture innovations from the outside world
  • be able to start the innovation process rolling
